Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Garena decided to go digital and turned it’s biggest annual event - Garena World – into a fully virtual edition for the first time in 2021. Despite being held online, the 2021 Garena World, held during April 3-4, 2021, has maintained its position as Southeast Asia’s biggest gaming and eSports event by employing a combination of cutting-edge technologies and fan engagement features to offer gamers and eSports fans an immersive online experience. Garena World 2021: Virtual Unite had an online attendance of more than 1.2 million, and drew over 40 million views and 3 million engagements.
