March 31 – April 1, 2018 - Garena Online (Thailand) held ‘Garena World: eSports for all’, the biggest gaming and eSports event in Southeast Asia, at BITEC Bangna. This event has been held for 5 consecutive years and this year is the sixth with greater scale by using over 20,000 square meters of space in order to accommodate attendees with the best international eSports event experience. In addition, this year total prize pool has grown even bigger equal to around 17 m THB. Upon the opening, Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand has also given an opening speech stressing the potential of eSports in relevant to Thailand’s Sports Tourism policy. The event has concluded with overwhelming public interests; more than 236,000 people attended the event together with over 10.6 m views online.
